Kortrijk, Belgium, 8 October 2009 – Medical imaging specialist Barco has received a significant order from GE Healthcare to supply Coronis Fusion 6MP DL diagnostic displays to St. Luke's International Hospital in Tokyo, Japan. The new displays will enable radiologists to visualize diverse clinical modalities on a single workstation, rather than on separate monitors. The 6 MegaPixel displays will be supplied through Toyo Corporation, Barco's local distributor in Japan.

Barco signs new reseller Fineman GmbH for medical displays in Germany

Tokyo Women's Medical University Medical Center East selects Barco as sole supplier of medical displays

With the assistance of integration partner McKesson, installation of the Coronis Fusion 6MP (MegaPixel) color displays began in early 2009. The existing McKesson workstation monitors were all replaced with a pair of Barco 6MP monitors.

Kortrijk, Belgium, 21 November 2008 – Medical imaging specialist Barco has entered into an agreement to sell its Advanced Visualization activities to Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation, Tokyo, Japan (Toshiba) via its newly formed, wholly-owned subsidiary, Toshiba Medical Visualization Systems Europe, Ltd., Edinburgh, UK (TMVS). ‘Advanced Visualization' was part of Barco's Medical Imaging Division through the acquisition of the Voxar company. The divestment operation, which is subject to approvals from relevant antitrust authorities, is expected to close within a few months. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
