Case study
Groups of customers, organisations and school classes, starting a factory tour at the Coca-Cola European Visitors Center in Wilrijk, cannot pass through its reception hall without being impressed by the large curved projection wall (13m x 6m). 3 Barco RLM R6+ projectors produce a widescreen image with a total resolution of 3500 x 1050 pixels, while 3 Folsom Screenshapers take care of the geometrical correction, needed for projection on a curved screen. The Master PC with i-Blend, outputs 3 edge-blended channels for a seamless picture. Concept and design, as well as multi-media content have been realized by The PubAgency (Antwerp), Lorent & Van de Poel (Leuven), architecture by Bar (Gent).
Before starting the factory tour, visitors are immersed in a trendy atmosphere. While seated in one of the 65 fancy chairs and surrounded by silver curtains, videofilms and images about the company’s rich history are projected on the huge curved display. Throughout different modules, people learn more about the drinks Coca-Cola produces, working at Coca-Cola, the care for environment, youth and sports. Afterwards they make a tour in the factory to experience how drinks are made, bottled, packed and stocked in the high rise. Nowadays the Coca-Cola Company counts a dozen of companies spread over 200 countries worldwide.
Before saying good-bye, visitors are offered a gadget and free refreshments, distributed through a large softdrink dispensing machine.
Next to receiving visitors, this multifunctional reception hall is used for hosting events related to Coca-Cola (e.g. ceremonies for the Belgian Food Industry), and corporate events or meetings.
The meeting room on the first floor of the Visitors Center features a 3,500 ANSI lumen Barco iQ G350 projector in a 72” diagonal rear screen set-up. Even in daylight working conditions, a bright and contrast-rich image is obtained. A large and stylish conference table with built-in audio, RGB, network and mains power connections, complements this advanced meeting facility. It mainly hosts internal meeting and board meetings, but is sometimes used by external partners as well.
