Barco cooperates with Inocon Solutions GmbH
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM, 12 May 2004 – Barco Orthogon, part of Barco’s market unit Traffic Management, and Inocon Solutions GmbH, Hürth, Germany, have signed a cooperation contract, which envisages collaboration in the area of flight schedule optimization and visualization for airports and airlines. The cooperation will result in the enhancement of Barco’s ARCASTM (Airside Slot Capacity Assistant) with the e-conX flight plan optimization component from Inocon.
Thanks to the integration of e-conX as a plug-in in ARCASTM, ARCASTM will be enhanced with a fast and very flexible flight schedule optimization component and will thus offer an integral package of outstanding capabilities for airports and airlines.ARCASTM is a very efficient software tool designed for the simulation of slot constraints, and, among other things, for the visualization of flight schedule data and airport slot utilization. e-conX has been conceived as a fast decision-support planning and simulation system and can be used in various phases of flight scheduling, for example, for maximizing the number of flights with respect to the airport slot constraints or for maximizing the number of possible transfer connections of an airline, also within an alliance. With the application of mathematical optimization methods, astounding results are achieved.
