Barco and Verint sign agreement for enhanced visualization in security operation centers
Orlando, FL – Barco announced today that it has signed an agreement with Verint to deliver enhanced solutions for security operation centers. Barco, a leading visualization systems supplier, will work with Verint®, a leading provider of video actionable intelligence, to deliver interoperable, flexible surveillance technology for security control centers.
Verint and Barco have reached an agreement for Verint to resell the Barco Hydra controller as an integrated solution with its Nextiva™ video analytics platform. This integrated solution provides the users with high-capacity, full D1 resolution (720 x 480) and full frame-rate decoding at 30 frames per second and integrated visualization switching.A single Hydra can decode and flexibly display up to 30 full-resolution, full frame-rate MPEG4 streams, and supports both analog and IP-based environments through integrated universal decoding and is interoperable with most popular encoder suppliers. Additionally, the Verint Nextiva platform has integrated the management of positioning, switching and layout selection of camera views via the Hydra onto the visualization solution (i.e. flat-panels, Barco display walls).
The combined solution will allow security operators to very quickly switch their operational views based on video analytics and provides them with the ability to view three times the number of simultaneous full frame rate, full D1-quality IP feeds in a much larger format (compared to a regular workstation platform). This will decrease the operator’s response time and increase their ability to proactively deal with the event in real time. This is especially beneficial for large-scale, IP-based video networks.

At the ASIS Show in Orlando, September 12-14, Verint (booth# 4743) will be exhibiting a Barco display wall consisting of a 2x1 Barco rear-projection display matrix. Verint’s Nextiva video analytics platform will manage the Barco display wall directly. Barco will also demonstrate its complete visualization technology at its booth (# 323).
