Barco brings ancient China to life at British Museum
London, United Kingdom – Barco, a preferred partner in advanced digital visualization, is proud to announce that it is working with the British Museum on its hugely popular exhibition: 'The First Emperor: China's Terracotta Army'. For this unique exhibition Barco has provided two five-channel projection systems that will display one of the greatest archeological discoveries of the twentieth century in vivid colors and full 1080 pixel High Definition.
Barco, a long-time supporter of arts and culture, is proud to partner with the British Museum and showcase the added value of its high-end visualization in a real life environment. To present the historical storyline for the First Emperor exhibition, the British Museum chose ten single-chip DLP, 1080p HD iCon H250 projectors, and had them arrayed in two five-channel setups. An additional Barco projector is being used at the main entrance to the exhibition and provides visitors with information on what they are about to see.

Both five-channel display systems provide one complete and seamless image on a curved, 20 meter wide screen. Proprietary Barco technologies eliminate blurry overlap zones where projections converge, and ensure that the entire image has the same color and brightness levels.
With a light output of 2,500 ANSI lumens, increased pixel count and deep color saturation, the iCon H250 is a perfect choice for accurate widescreen projection of still and moving images. Its single-chip DLP technology is renowned for its durability and reliability, a trait that is further enhanced by the iCon’s filterless, sealed optical engine. This design prevents dust from entering the projector and ensures an uncompromised image quality under intensive, prolonged use.
