Barco Wins Six Awards at CRTA Science and Technology Innovation Award 2010
Beijing, China —19 April 2010 – Barco, a global technology company, won six awards at the China Radio and Television Equipment Industrial Association's (CRTA) Science and Technology Innovation Award ceremony. The awards were announced in Henan Hall in the Beijing Great Hall of the People. Among the awards, the most striking one, “the Annual Scientific and Technology Innovation and Contribution Award”, was given to Barco for its display wall used in CCTV studios and the dynamic projection at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. Barco was honored as “the Annual Scientific and Technology Innovation and Contribution Company”.
Established by the National Office for Science and Technology Awards, the CRTA Science and Technology Innovation Award has been attracting much focus since its launching in 2006. The Award was created to commend and encourage technology innovation in order to promote the development of China's radio and television equipment industry.
One of Barco's award-winning products, the interactive broadcast backdrop, has been widely used in studios for many famous TV programs, including CCTV “Morning News”, "360 Degrees”, "News in 30 minutes”, "Noon News”, "Evening News” , etc.
The dynamic projection used at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala was praised in the awarding ceremony as well . The main display wall consisted of 640 Barco ILite 6 BK LED display cases, taking up a total area of 128 square meters. Besides, 8 Barco Digital Moving Luminaire projectors (DML-1200) with unlimited image selection, video projection and under lighting mode seamless switch support, together with the LED screen were used to render fantastic stage lighting effects and to present a visual feast for viewers.
The awarding shows the recognition and praise for Barco's years of devotion to technology innovation and product development. Barco will continue its investment in innovation and development, supporting the development of China's radio and television industry.
