Barco aids State Grid Corporation of China to achieve enhanced intelligence control
Shanghai, China, 10 August 2010 - Global visualization leader Barco is proud to announce the supply of 32 OverView video wall systems to China's electric power distribution company State Grid Corporation (SGCC). SGCC, the largest power transmission company in the world, was looking for an integrated intelligence control system that would bring world class performance to its operations. They found a fit-for-purpose package in Barco's 80-inch OverView display system, complemented with TransForm A processors and Apollo wall management software.
In order to meet its rising expectations for flexibility and performance in intelligence control, SGCC needed a modern visualization system that could simplify and improve the quality of the decision-making process. The company therefore set up a new control center that is connected to local control centers in the different states, thereby ensuring efficient collaboration and a perfect overview of the situation.The system's visual interface, provided by Barco's 80-inch OverView video walls, features high resolution image quality and is compatible with advanced video monitoring and data processing applications. These capabilities greatly satisfy SGCC's requirements for automation, visualization and intelligence.
Together, Barco's OverView video walls, TransForm A video wall controllers and Apollo control room software tools form an intelligent information management platform that will present information in a more accurate and efficient manner. Moreover, the brand-new system will dynamically analyze the data generated by grid operations and allow for accurate forecasting tasks.
