Integration with ARCAS
ARCAS enables the flight planner to easily and quickly manage the e-conX features by allowing to adjust flight schedules, slot constraints, objective functions and restrictions in a user-friendly manner. Furthermore, ARCAS displays the results in graphical or tabular views to identify slot violations, potentials and changes of the original flight schedule.

Flexible and powerful
e-conX is very flexible and can model many kinds of airport and airline specific problems. Therefore it supports:

  • Multi dimensional objective functions
  • Flexible restriction treatment
  • Fast ad-hoc analysis and simulation
  • Human interaction and influence due to short optimization cycles

Airline use cases
e-conX allows to increase the number of feasible and short time connections and thereby boosts

  • Quantity of connections
  • Quality of connections
  • Market share
  • Revenue

Example: Maximize the number of weekly connections within the alliance at Frankfurt/Main airport.

Airport use cases
Maximize an airport’s revenue:
With parameters like aircraft type and average utilization of the flights for a specific slot, a monetary value can be assigned to every slot. The objective function now maximizes the value of all used slots. As a result slots are generally ratable and each slot is assessed with a measurable value.

Maximize the number of flights in line with slot restrictions:
Here scheduled flights are fixed and cannot be moved while waiting-list flights can be moved within a defined time frame. Within a runtime of 10 minutes e-conX already managed to integrate up to 10 % of the waiting-list flights into the current flight schedule.
