RDDS-2 is Barco's radar visualization software that offers high availability of radar sources over the network. RDDS-2 is a cost effective alternative to expensive radar scan conversion hardware. RDDS-2 can handle all possible display resolutions with an easy upgrade path to higher CPUs and GPUs. The open framework allows to custom design the software when third-party modules need to be integrated.
RDDS-2 makes use of software only mechanism to perform the display generation on the client workstation. The RDDS-2 source capturing unit (server) is based on rugged rack-mountable unit, housing radar acquisition boards and dedicated software for data compression, distribution and system control.
