Case study
Although its committee work normally takes place in Brussels, the members of Parliament meet in full session in Strasbourg for about one week every month. After analyzing total cost of ownership for the projectors needed in its various meeting rooms, the European Parliaments services chose for Barco’s network centric projection approach. Allowing central control and management of 40 iQ Pro projectors in Brussels and another 40 installed in Strasbourg, this proved to be by far the most efficient and cost effective solution.
Central management and real time remote helpdesk support ensure efficient meetings
Because of the advanced network functionality, the iQ Pro Series enables central control and management of a fleet of projectors. By connecting the built in server of the Barco iQ Pro projectors to the parliaments network, all projectors can be centrally managed. Files needed for a presentation can be sent to the projectors server and presenters no longer need a laptop. Extra information needed can be retrieved from whatever source connected to the network for immediate display. When needed control over the projectors can be passed instantly over LAN to the helpdesk for immediate support. This real-time interaction and support allows for uninterrupted and efficient meetings. Besides the network functionality advanced picture-in-picture display enables users to show up to three sources simultaneously. A brightness level up to 5,000 ANSI Lumen and an intelligent dual-lamp design for utmost reliability make the Barco iQ projectors perfectly suited for these high demanding applications.
Central maintenance of projection fleet in Brussels and Strasbourg reduces operation costs
Dedicated Barco software called “Remote Control & Diagnostics” enables remote maintenance of the complete fleet of projectors. Adjustments can be made remotely and instantly over the network right from the AV/IT operators’ room, there is no need for support staff to run to meeting rooms to adjust projector settings.
