Cubic integrates Barco high-fidelity projectors into EST 2000 firearms training system
Orlando – Barco Simulation has been awarded a subcontract from Cubic Defense Applications, a subsidiary of Cubic Corporation (AMEX:CUB), to provide high-fidelity projectors for its Engagement Skills Trainers 2000 (EST 2000) – the U.S. Army's only validated marksmanship trainer that can replicate every type of small arm that soldiers use today.
Under the OEM contract, Barco will provide its iQTM Series projectors to Cubic’s Simulation Systems Division (SSD), the developers of EST 2000.

With this new OEM agreement in place, Barco Simulation will ship 218 iQ R350 projectors to SSD’s Orlando, Fla., office. The iQ R350 projectors are an important component of EST 2000, which will be supplied to the U.S. Army. Every soldier that undergoes Army basic training must qualify on the EST 2000. Barco’s iQ R350 is an extremely versatile projector capable of a variety of configurations. The iQ series projectors display realistic battlefield environments in mobile and fixed theaters. The image on the screen can be sized, moved, and resized to perfectly fit any application. The projector fills the screen and can project from the floor in front of the firing line, or it can be ceiling mounted behind the firing line.
Operators can easily save and instantly recall settings for different training scenarios. The iQ’s picture-in-picture capability enables users to simultaneously display several windows for after-action reviews or enables an additional zoom-in on the target area.
