Barco unveils newest engineering development: the Mega-CADWall
Xenia – Barco’s new Mega-CADWall is a high-resolution projection solution created for demanding applications with near eye-limiting resolution requirements.
“Barco Simulation is always trying to push the boundaries of technology,” said Ken Hunter, Director of Sales and Marketing for Virtual & Augmented Reality for Barco Simulation. “The Mega-CADWall is our latest successful engineering development to enhance visualization and create a new, more accurate product with higher fidelity.”Barco will also unveil the new Mega-CADWall at SIGGRAPH 2004. The Mega-CADWall is a blended 2x2 array projection solution for ultra high-resolution applications. It offers unlimited display capabilities, and it is scalable to the demands of any application. The system is driven by four, single-chip, DLPTM SIM 4 projectors with a native SXGA resolution of 1280 x 1024 each. This projector is designed specifically for simulation and immersive applications. Barco’s proven FLEX 4TM geometry distortion technology is integrated in the projector’s rugged design, enabling the SIM 4 to support any curved screen application. The SIM 4 is also equipped with powerful features, such as Linked DynaColorTM, Linked CLO, and Optical Soft Edge Matching to allow all projectors in the array to maintain equal brightness, alignment, color, and seamless blending for the most accurate image.
FLEX 4 and DynaColor are trademarks of Barco. DLP is a trademark of Texas Instruments.
