Barco launches entry-level stereoscopic package 'Gemini' at Stavanger 2003
The 65th EAGE Exhibition and Conference in Stavanger Norway is thé Oil&Gas event not to be missed. At several partner booths, Barco will be showing its latest state-of-the-art multi-channel V&AR solutions.
As a first Barco launches its ‘Gemini’ solution, a brand new entry-level stereoscopic package. The Barco Gemini is a compact, entry-level projection package for high-quality passive stereo viewing and is perfectly customizable to your specific needs. A wide variety of application area’s, from Automotive and Scientific Research to Oil & Gas and Molecular Modeling, can now expand their facilities with this affordable, stereoscopic, large screen projection system. The Barco Gemini is a proprietary, fine-tuned package with two high-brightness projectors, pre-aligned mechanical structure, active to passive stereo conversion (DUET II), non-depolarizing projection screen and 10 perfectly matched deluxe stereo glasses.
The Barco Gemini package includes:
- Two Barco XGA, SXGA+ or UXGA projectors
- Circular Polarization for excellent image separation
- Pre-aligned mechanical structure
- Barco’s DUET II, high bandwidth Active to Passive Stereo converter with Stereo-Lumens Boost Mode

Barco’s DUET II is a state-of-the-art, groundbreaking technology with patent pending features that elevates the performance of Barco’s passive stereo display systems to new levels. It has the highest active-to-passive stereo conversion bandwidth on the market today, dramatically increasing the attainable resolution for PC-driven passive stereo visualization systems to UXGA. The patent pending Stereo-Lumens Boost Mode nearly doubles the projector stereo brightness for all Barco LCD projector platforms. It closes the loop in providing a full digital path for passive stereo. Image quality is further enhanced by the innovative I-LOCK™ technology.
