The Barco Explorer software is designed to remotely control up to 256 Barco 900 series CRT projectors through a local network or via the internet.
The Application allows to remotely
• up and download projector data from and to a PC.
• view projector details
• control (groups of) projectors with timer functionality
• perform diagnostics
• upload firmware and adapt the geometry level
• control projectors from third party applications using simple text commands
The application consists out of two seperate executables: a client user interface called Barco Explorer and a server application software called Barco Daemon.
The server application converts TCP/IP messages coming from the client into RS232 commands and sends them to the connected projector(s). A version is available for both Windows and Irix 6.5 operating systems. The user interface allows to control the projectors as well from a remote PC over a local network or internet, as from a local PC (using a "localhost" internal TCP/IP connection).
If multiple projectors are to be controlled, or when working over a network, a license file is required. Without license file, the application allows to control a single projector from a local PC. Both the BarcoExplorer and the BarcoDaemon executables run on the PC in this case and are connected through an internal "localhost" TCP/IP connection.
