Barco introduces Personal Wall solution for surveillance at IFSEC 2004
Kuurne, Belgium – May 10th 2004 – Barco will be introducing the Personal Wall Solution for the surveillance industry at IFSEC 2004. This is a continuation of a suite of surveillance visualization solutions first started at IFSEC 2003, with the iSurveillance displays to replace monitor wall stacks. Barco will showcase its large display wall solutions & personal wall solution at the show on booth nr J77 in Hall 6.
The personal wall solution provides the users with an immersive and integrated work environment where multiple inputs from various applications (e.g. access control) to analog or digital video sources may be displayed on one single large screen display solution. This solution removes the clutter of monitors traditionally crowding the workspace of the users and provides a seamless visually integrated view to operator.
This solution is also open and networkable. It provides an API to the integrator to manage and control all of its display functions. In addition, with networking, any personal wall is capable of displaying the contents of any other personal wall (i.e. other operator work stations) on its display through screen scraping and multicast video. In essence, the operations centre therefore has flexible user workstations that can be used independently or collaboratively. For example, each personal wall may be utilized to respond to several independent incidents individually or, several personal walls be configured dynamically to focus multiple operators on a single incident from different perspectives working in concert. All the while, the supervisor can actually supervise and co-ordinate activities from a higher level with an overview of each operator's actions due to the size and viewing angles of the personal walls.
