Global business leaders and government officials to view Homeland Security and Distributed Mission Operation (DMO) solutions at Barco's 2004 Simulation Technology Expo
Xenia, Ohio – Barco, the worldwide leader in high-quality, high-performance visual display systems, will be holding a Simulation Technology Expo from Sept. 29 – Oct. 1. Business leaders from around the globe, as well as government officials, key customers, and the media will see first-hand Barco's cutting-edge technology and meet the top decision-makers behind the world's finest visualization systems. The Technology Forum is open to the general public on Oct. 1.
"We'll be exhibiting some of our latest advances in Simulation & Training and Virtual Reality for Distributed Mission Operations, Homeland Security, and other real-world, high-tech applications," says Steve McCullough, Vice President and General Manager at Barco Simulation. "Visitors will see our engineering developments to enhance visualization, improve training, and expand group collaboration."
The Technology Expo will showcase several Barco system solutions:
· Distribute Mission Operations (DMO) – Using two active-for-flight cockpits, individuals will fly missions in a virtual battlefield environment while other networked systems display the out-of-window imagery, the virtual battlefield, and record the mission for post-mission debriefing. The technology behind this exhibit includes: Barco’s new Small Environment Enhanced Reality (SEERTM) mini-dome display system; Barco’s innovative HALOTM rear-projected, continuous field-of-view immersive display system; and Barco’s latest high-resolution projection solution. Barco will also exhibit its ability to display a digital brief/debrief system that enables the replay of the mission in plain view of all the players participating in a DMO type engagement.
· Virtual Collaboration, Analysis and Decision (VCADTM) – Barco will also exhibit its VCAD system, the world’s first integrated software and hardware visualization solution for Homeland and National Security. This revolutionary tool is specially designed for visualizing, analyzing, and interacting with multifaceted data. It can simultaneously display various types of large data sets on multiple displays and graphically render key relationships in stereo 3D. Additional information can be displayed on the large LCD panels and monitors on both side wings. Thanks to near-real-time, simultaneous access to the current common picture, the VCAD system allows simultaneous collaboration with other sites. Other applications include military planning, network and cyber security, commercial demographic/market analysis, web mapping and file system analysis, immersive training and simulation, and any application requiring the visualization of complex data sets or vast amounts of information.
· Team Room Application Collaborative Environment (TRACETM) – Barco’s scalable plug and play virtual environment for team collaboration to visualize, analyze, and explore complex data in active stereo 3D.
· Mega-CADWall – Barco’s new blended 2x2 array projection solution for ultra high-resolution applications with near eye-limiting requirements. The system offers unlimited display capabilities, and it is scalable to the demands of any application.
"Barco Simulation is always trying to push the boundaries of technology," adds McCullough. "We keep focused on marketplace needs and listen closely to our customers to continuously develop better, more cost-effective visualization solutions."
The Barco 2004 Technology Expo will be held at Barco Simulation, 600 Bellbrook Avenue, Xenia OH 45385. The event will begin Wednesday, Sept. 29 with a private screening for business leaders, media and government officials, and will be open to technical professionals and the general public on Thursday, Sept. 30 and Friday, Oct. 1.
