Case study
Tokyo’s Science Museum, sponsored by the Japan Science Foundation (JSF), wanted to turn an exhibition room on the fourth floor of their museum into Japan’s first, full digital 3D stereo dome display to bring stunning scientific discoveries to life. JSF settled on a Barco system as the best choice to deliver high quality 3D images in the dome’s limited space at a low cost. The installed setup includes twelve Barco single-chip DLP projectors with unique Infitec stereoscopic technology. Infitec requires less expensive glasses than traditional 3D technology, and is often used for the larger audiences that typically visit museums. In addition, Barco’s projectors that drive the system are equipped with multi-channel features that result in one flawless composite image without noticeable color or brightness differences between projection zones.
