 Barco’s
MiPIX
(modular intelligent LED pixel block) has been awarded the
prize for "Best Video Emissive Display Product"
at this year's Infocomm in Atlanta, USA. A tiny module compared
to other LED display modules, Barco's MiPIX
measures only 4cm by 4cm. A revolution in the LED market,
its small size and shape allow for it to be used to create
intelligent lighting effects on large-scale backdrops of any
form, shape or size, while also offering the possibility of
full video content on 3D logos or other free-form shapes.
The MiPIX
blocks further facilitate the construction of large-scale
backdrops by the fact that they can be spaced apart at various
distances, making the pixel blocks a cost-effective medium
for ultra-large applications.
Since its introduction in September 03, MiPIX
has won 2 international industry awards and has been used
to enhance shows by Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears and on
carshows by Mercedes-Benz.
