 “I work for Barco Germany but have now been stationed at Barco’s office in Singapore for 2
years. Before I took this big step to the Far East, I was a software engineer at the Barco Orthogon
Office in Langen near Frankfurt, where my work consisted of programming only. I didn’t have a
lot of contact with customers, I wasn’t involved in sales activities. Now, my work has changed
dramatically. Not only do I find myself working in a completely different environment, with people
who have different attitudes and habits, also the content of my job has changed. Now I have
to combine my technical knowledge with marketing skills. I have to give presentations, am
responsible for customer support and discuss technical issues with customers for existing as well
as – hopefully – upcoming projects.” |
