Post production specialists can now enjoy an enhanced 4K workflow thanks to industry leaders coming together to create a 4K Digital Intermediate (DI) Suite on display at this year’s NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Barco’s new DP4K-P post production projector will be part of an integrated platform utilizing the Qube Cinema Xi 4K IMB with Quad 3G inputs and Quantel’s Pablo Rio with new 4K output, which when combined, facilitates a true 4K workflow. The system will be used to grade and show content shot on Canon’s EOS C500 4K digital cinema camera.

Today, Barco LiveDots welcomed a new member to its renowned C-series LED display family. The C8 outdoor LED display shares its high-class image processing, flexible software and easy-to-use peripherals with the other C-series LED displays but provides an 8.33 mm pixel pitch and 5,000 nits brightness.

From 11 to 14 March, Barco held its very first International Partner Meeting. Connect! 2013 took place on the island of Malta and saw global partners for both Barco and projectiondesign gathered for a few days of interactive workshops.

Independent movie fans got a glimpse of the “Cinema of the Future" at Sundance Film Festival, witnessing first-hand how video projection mapping can enhance the entertainment “wow” factor of cinema – outdoors! Barco France and Immersion, Barco’s very first partner in the field of virtual reality, looks back on its very first joint initiative with satisfaction. At AUSA Winter 2013, Barco Federal Systems joined HGH Infrared Systems to demonstrate how their combined technologies can improve the visibility of thermal imagery in both military vehicles and control rooms. HGH’s “IR Revolution™ 360” a 12 megapixel, long wave infrared camera tracks potential threats, presenting a panoramic or multi-image picture for display on Barco’s SV-338 smart display, providing a clear visual of all thermal activity.

Global Visualization Leader Barco announced that the company was entitled five awards at the China Radio and Television Equipment Industrial Association’s (CRTA) Science and Technology Innovation Awards 2012 held on March, 23rd, 2013. This is the fourth time that Barco swept up awards since 2010 for its powerful innovation strength and premium visualization solutions.

Barco has recently extended its contract with European AV distributor COMM-TEC. Starting from March, COMM-TEC will be distributing Barco’s ClickShare presentation system in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania. COMM-TEC is a trusted Barco distributor of projection and other visualization systems, including the ClickShare meeting room presentation system.
