In line with its new partnership strategy, Barco has recently closed a strategic partnership agreement with the French company Immersion. A European expert in immersive and collaborative 3D innovative technologies, Immersion is the first European partner in the VR field to join Barco’s partner network.

Earlier this week, all the EMEA managers of the Starwood hotel group gathered in Abu Dhabi for their annual conference. As befits a prestigious group of 1,134 hotels, Starwood had spared no pains to make it a great, inspiring event. The video mapping on the hotel façade, to the matching beats of a famous DJ, ensured a great kick-off to the event. Already screened in Auro 11.1 at the CineStar Sony Center in Berlin during the 63rd Berlinale, ‘The Croods’ has now been released worldwide. Thanks to Auro 11.1 - Barco’s 3D cinema sound format - moviegoers across the world will be totally immersed in the adventure of DreamWorks Animation’s cave family ‘The Croods’. This is the second movie featured in Barco’s alliance with DreamWorks Animation to mix their animation films in the most natural cinema sound format.

Barco partner Avitec highlighted its enthusiasm for Barco’s projection products during the recent ProShow exhibition in Istanbul (14 – 17 March). Its hyper-impressive booth featured no fewer than ten of our latest, high-brightness projectors and several image processing controllers to catch the eye of Turkey’s rental and staging community.

Global visualization pioneer Barco announces that it will exhibit its Smart Broadcasting visualization solutions – including enriched video wall solutions and the LiveDots outdoor LED displays – at the 2013 China Content Broadcasting Network (CCBN) exhibition, from 21 – 23 March, in Beijing. Barco will present the compelling features of its smart products and solutions to visitors under the theme: “Barco enables your smarter tomorrow”.

Barco LiveDots has just delivered the largest LED display in its history and one of the most eco-friendly displays in the world: a 2,650 sqm. display featuring nearly 20 million LEDs in 2,880 TF-20 tiles. The installation, which graces the top of the Absa Tower in Johannesburg, was chosen on account of its reliability, the image quality and LiveDots’ worldwide reputation as a trusted supplier of large-scale LED installations.

Barco’s event projectors can be used in all kinds of shows and set-ups. During the annual award ceremony for the Foot Locker Europe Management team, four RLM-W8 projectors were used for floor projection - a unique set-up by Barco rental partner ACS audiovisual solutions. The RLM-W8 projectors worked alongside two ultra-bright HDF-W26 and three more RLM projectors to create an amazing show at the Nieuwegein Business Center (the Netherlands), on 28 February last.
