Vienna Traffic Authority

Case study

A modern operating traffic control center was established in the Viennese suburb of Erdberg, in which on average about 40 coworkers supervise the enterprise around the clock. A display wall, based on the latest rear-projection technology, of approximately 50 m long provides a concise and clear representation of the lines and electricity networks.

The entire display wall consists of 144 (48 x 3) rear-projection modules with a diagonal of 50 inches per module. At present 88 modules thereof are equipped with rear-projection units. Further modules can be added and upgraded as required.

The display wall is divided into several areas for monitoring the different underground lines, the tramway as well as displaying the electricity network. All together 15 logical display walls are controlled by one particular controller of type Transform A.
