Twinkling stars, red velvet, walnut panels, a golden festoon curtain and state-of-the-art technology: the one-theater Filmpalatset cinema perfectly mingles past and future to guarantee a fantastic movie experience. Its efforts even yielded the title of ‘Sweden´s Best Theater’.
“We always try to keep up with the latest technology and innovations. It’s a commitment we make to our visitors,” says Thomas Jonsson, manager and owner of the Filmpalatset. “We have been among the first to introduce DTS, Dolby Digital and even 8 ch SDDS. Same thing with digital projection. We installed our very first Barco projector, a DP-2000, for the screening of Ice Age 3 in June 2009. We’ve had a great run with the DP-2000 these past three years, so Barco was undoubtedly the way to go for taking the next step forward.”
Last year, Filmpalatset equipped the theater with new chairs and carpets, and installed Barco’s DP4K-32B digital cinema projector. Jonsson: “Investing in the new projector was definitely worth it. I am very impressed with the images it produces on the screen. It’s great to have our audience compliment us about it too! Key message? Go for Barco – you can’t go wrong!”
