The installation made communications and decisionmaking astonishingly much easier and, consequently, more (cost-)efficient.
Networked, collaborative visualization on-the-go to ensure security during WWI remembrance ceremonies
On 28 October 2014, Europe commemorated the beginning of World War I on Belgian soil, exactly 100 years earlier. With important heads of state attending the remembrance ceremonies, security was a crucial topic for the event organizers. In a pioneering project that involved close cooperation with local police forces, Barco installed a temporary command center, where a mobile, networked visualization solution was coupled with resources from security expert Securitas.
All the security authorities involved in Nieuwpoort, Ypres and Brussels had a realtime view of what was happening, every minute of the events, which ensured faster, better command and control than ever before.
