From 2 to 5 May, Barco will be taking part in the And& festival – a four-day tech and creativity conference in Leuven, Belgium, that explores the impact of health, tech and creativity on future city life. By sponsoring the festival’s Startup Demo Day, we highlight our commitment to innovative ecosystems for tech startups. In addition, Guy Van Wijmeersch, Director Innovation and Design Thinking at Barco, will participate in a panel on co-creation on 3 May.
Innovative ecosystems for tech start-ups
As a technology leader, we want to help great technological minds develop their ideas. That’s why we proudly helped create the Hangar K innovation hub
in Kortrijk, which recently opened its doors. And that’s also why we decided to participate in the And& summit and festival in the center of Leuven. The ingredients: inspiring talks, a tech expedition, avant-garde music acts and art interventions.
In addition, the organizers invited a selection of top Belgian tech start-ups to present their business, innovative technologies and services during Startup Demo Day. €50,000 worth of prizes are up for grabs for whichever start-ups can convince the present audience. As a proud sponsor, we gladly contribute to this initiative and we will be supplying the technological support for the keynote sessions.
Merging tech and creativity
Our Director Innovation and Design Thinking, Guy Van Wijmeersch, is passionate about co-creation. “At Barco, we believe that merging great technological and creative minds allows technology to reach new heights. It broadens horizons and creates a breeding ground for new ideas,” he states. Guy Van Wijmeersch will discuss the topic in a panel with imec on 3 May.
