Barco’s Learning Experience: all geared up to revolutionize learning

in Education

While students enjoy the first days of their summer holidays, Barco’s Learning Experience team is working hard to make lectures more interactive, engaging and fun for them in the coming academic years. Our collaborative learning solutions and subscription-based purchasing model are sparking the interest of an ever-larger group of schools and universities. Recently, 54 educational professionals from the Netherlands came to explore how Barco seeks to optimize – or rather, revolutionize – the learning experience.
More interaction and participation
Today’s technology-driven generation requires new ways of teaching: more interaction, participation and engagement instead of long monologues from teachers standing in front of the classrooms. The delegation from the Netherlands – from 21 different educational facilities – that visited our Experience Center were impressed to see how Barco puts that new approach into practice. They discovered our weConnect learning solution, designed to foster interactivity. We also explained our scalable, subscription-based model that allows schools, universities and other educational organizations to embrace our new learning experience in a cost-effective way.

Research into the learning experience

After the visit to our headquarters, the delegation also visited KULAK, the Kortrijk-based campus of KU Leuven, which embraced Barco’s collaborative learning solution several years ago. Our Learning Experience team joined forces with KULAK and Televic Education, a world leader in educational technology, in 2016 to tackle the Technology-Enhanced Collaborative Learning (TECOL) project. Under the project, we set up a living lab at KULAK to investigate the growing potential of educational technology for collaborative face-to-face education.

Customer successes

In the meantime, our solutions are gaining inroads at educational facilities around Europe. In addition to KULAK, Thomas Moore, Sportinnovatiecampus, UCC Denmark and many others are also using our solutions today. In the following academic year, more will follow. The University of Northampton, for example, will equip all 170 classrooms on its campus with our solutions, making it ready to kick off collaborative learning from September onwards.

We have big plans to travel the world – starting with the EMEA region – to spread the word about our solutions for interactive learning in the coming months!
