Al-Hada Hospital extends its Barco diagnostic display fleet with Coronis Fusion 6MP LED
Kortrijk, Belgium, 29 January 2015 – Enterprise visualization expert Barco announced today that the prestigious Saudi Arabian Al-Hada Military Hospital has selected its Coronis Fusion 6MP diagnostic display system, including its online MediCal QAWeb management service. As a long-term Barco customer, the hospital has been using Barco’s Nio 2MP and 5MP display systems since 2006, throughout their imaging department. By adding the Coronis Fusion 6MP display systems, it helps its radiology team to make confident and faster diagnoses.
“Al-Hada hospital rehabilitation center is a leading healthcare group in Saudi Arabia. Barco is honored that they have reconfirmed their trust in Barco by ordering the Coronis Fusion 6MP. The display system provides the radiologists with a flexible desktop to view all their images in the way they want. As studies has shown, the Coronis Fusion 6MP can help improve radiologists’ productivity by up to 19%, with complete diagnostic confidence,” commented Wim De Bruyne, VP Sales for Healthcare at Barco.
More accurate, more productive
Back in 2006, Al-Hada Hospital installed a fleet of Nio 2MP and Nio 5MP diagnostic grayscale display systems to read CT, MR, and X-Ray images. After the favorable experiences with these display solutions, the imaging department decided to order nine Coronis Fusion 6MP widescreen color display systems. Dr. Attar Abdullah Head of Radiology Department: “The Coronis Fusion display system addresses both our grayscale and color imaging needs. It allows our radiologists to read CT, MR, cath and echo cardiogram images, or any other combination, side by side on one single diagnostic screen, raising the accuracy of our diagnoses as well as our productivity.”
High brightness + high ROI
Barco’s Coronis Fusion 6MP LED can be used as two seamless 3MP heads or one wide-screen 6MP display. Equipped with high-bright LED backlights, the display system renders more JNDs (Just Noticeable Differences) to help radiologists see more shades of gray. Moreover, ULT-LED removes panel luminance non-uniformities and renders uniform DICOM images from center to corner. Features like I-MST (Intelligent Multi Sensor Technology) in which the I-Guard, the backlight, ambient light and the temperature sensors work seamlessly together to optimize the image quality and keep it consistent over time. Furthermore, the energy-efficient LED backlights ensure low power consumption and have a long wear life, providing a high return on investment.

Al-Hada Hospital is part of the larger Al-Hada Hospital Rehabilitation Center, which comprises four medical care facilities located in and around the city of Taif, Saudi Arabia.
