Barco believes this strongly in the reliability of its products that it offers a three-year warranty on all ClickShare models for wireless presentation. Airtame offers a two-year warranty in Europe and only a one-year warranty outside Europe. No opportunity for extension.
Choose your way of sharing
Hardware or software. Or why not both?
Airtame uses an application to connect a device to a display or projector. ClickShare consists of a Base Unit that is connected to the meeting room display or projector and offers both a Button, an App to share content or a combination of both for an even richer sharing experience.
The ClickShare Button is a device that needs to be plugged into your computer to make the connection with the screen but that does not require you to download any software on your laptop. The ClickShare Button is available in a USB-A or USB-C version. For the Conferencing range there is a new Conferencing Button available.
The benefit of the Button is that it is extremely easy to use. No training needed, no software needs to be downloaded. Just connect, click, share. What’s more, it enables enterprises to allow multiple users and guests to share content without compromising the security of the company network.
The ClickShare Desktop App is software that connects wirelessly to the Base Unit and is ideal for organisations that prefer not to plug a device into their users’ computers.
Enterprises prefer offering their users a consistent user experience, so for them it is crucial to have screen mirroring across devices. For mobile users, the ClickShare app for mobile devices allows mirroring of static documents such as Word documents, PDFs or images. Full screen mirroring, including video streaming (so static and dynamic content) can be done both on iOS and Android devices via respectively Airplay and Android mirroring apps such as Google Cast and, Miracast (only on the CSE-200+). Read on...
Airtame’s mobile mirroring, on the other hand, is very limited. The Airplay iOS mirroring is still in beta so the functionality is very basic. Mobile mirroring for Android is not available. The Airtame app is available for both iOS and Android devices, but only allows mirroring of static content.
Great meetings are all about sharing and working together. So, if you’ve invited guests to contribute, it’s important they feel at ease so that they can give their all. More and more organizations are prohibiting their users to download software on their computers because of security reasons. So it might be impossible for them to join the conversation. With Airtame, guests will have to download an app on their laptop before being able to participate. The app does not require admin privileges however the users will be asked for firewall access.
With ClickShare, your guests get exactly the same experience as your employees: fast, wireless, hassle-free collaboration. They just ‘plug and play’ with the ClickShare Button.
Seamless match with enterprise IT standards
With so many people bringing their own devices to meetings (BYOD), and so many threats to counter, security is more important than ever for enterprises. That is why ClickShare offers the possibility to run in standalone or connected mode. Your security preferences prevail. This means that ClickShare offers complete confidentially, integrity and availability of data. ClickShare even offers three levels of security to cater to the needs of every business. This is also the reason why ClickShare was granted a ISO27001 certification for all its processes.
On the other hand, the Airtame stream runs on your network, the stream is not encrypted. Airtame relies on the encryption of your own network. This means if someone is already on your network they could pose a threat and compromise security.
The ClickShare portfolio has been developed for large installs, offering a dedicated ClickShare unit for each type of meeting room within an organization. Needless to say that ClickShare also offers a device management platform, the XMS Cloud Management Platform that allows enterprises to easily manage and update their units from a central location. For this, the ClickShare Units need to be integrated in your company network or connected to the on-premise XMS Edge, in case you prefer not to integrate ClickShare into your network.
The ClickShare Units also work stand-alone and don’t need to be connected to the company network. However, it is advised to connect and enable auto-update to ensure you always have the latest firmware on your Base Units.
Airtame offers a remote management platform Airtame Cloud for which organizations need an organization account. This can be used to monitor the status of your devices, manage settings and perform reboots and to control the digital signage of devices.
Collaborate creatively, brainstorm better
With specific features, ClickShare aims at enriching collaboration, making meeting room interaction highly engaging and interactive. These allow customers to use touch back function and control a pc from a touchscreen display when sharing. With a few touches on the screen, you can control a presentation, open other documents, share mails, start a video. Additionally there is the option to use blackboarding and annotation. With the moderation feature, customers can monitor and select what is shared on screen (not available on every ClickShare model).
Airtame keeps the focus on presentation rather than on collaboration and therefore they only offer basic features like digital signage and app sharing.
Reliability, security and user experience matter
