ClickShare Buttons cannot connect to Base Unit - Base Unit unresponsive and needs to be rebooted

Applicable to

Symptoms:

  • Buttons fail to connect to the Base Unit (Button LED keeps blinking - app toggles between preparing and idle)
  • Base Unit wakes from standby
  • The issue is seen daily
  • Only a reboot makes the Base Unit back to functional

This is seen on both the CS(E) and CX range of products, in combination with several firmware releases, but seems to happen more/most with the latest release (CX firmware version 2.6 and CS(E) firmware version 1.10.1).

Solution:

This issue has been resolved in the CX firmware version 2.7 and CS(E) firmware version 1.11. Please upgrade your Base Unit to this version or to their latest available version on Barco.com.

Workarounds:

The following workarounds for this case (both need to be applied) are found useful:

  1. Disable all BYOD services (AirPlay, Google Cast, Miracast) on the device;
     
  2. Reboot the Base Unit periodically (e.g. nightly). This can be done manually or can be scheduled via XMS.
