For its 2011 TCM Classic Film Festival, Turner Class Movies acquired Barco’s top-of-the-line 4K digital cinema projector to showcase some of the most iconic films of the 20th Century, digitally restored to their original glory for the occasion. The experience was so successful, that Festival organizers procured another Barco DP4K-32B projector to show more celebrated classics in their best light.

Located in the Festival’s premier venues, the Barco projector was used for the Opening Night screening of the world premiere restoration of Cabaret at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, attended by leading actors Joel Grey and Liza Minelli. It was also used to show Singin’ in the Rain in eye-popping color to a sold-out venue. "From the crisp images and stark contrast of black-and-white movies like Wings and Grand Illusion, to the richly-hued brilliance of Chinatown and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the projectors performed beautifully," commented Genevieve McGillicuddy, Managing Director of the TCM Classic Film Festival and Senior Director of Brand Activation for TCM.
