National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM)

Saving lives by installing the first Barco Mammo Tomosynthesis in Asia

The National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) is a charity established in 1966 to help people affected by cancer. Ever since its foundation, the NCSM has been a pioneer in its field. It was the first cancer-related NGO in the country to provide education, patient care as well as support services. In addition, it was the first to open a cytology screening center for early detection of cervical cancer and it set up the first mammography screening center in Southeast Asia. Very recently came another première: the NCSM was the first Asian healthcare center to install a Hologic Dimension mammography system including 3D breast tomosynthesis and Barco’s Mammo Tomosynthesis 5MP display system.
