Connecting music and visuals
When the summer festival season is in full swing, music lovers flock to festival sites all over the world to catch a performance by their favorite artists. The Spanish city of Barcelona welcomed a record of more than 121,000 electronic music enthusiasts for the 20th edition of the Sónar International Festival of Advanced Music and New Media Art. In two decades, the event has grown into one of Europe’s most successful music festivals.
As Sónar attaches a lot of importance to the interaction of music and images, the festival organization relied on the expertise of AV company DITEC Comunicaciones to display video content during the many shows. Six Barco HDX-W18 projectors, managed by a Barco Encore system, reproduced images of superior quality on screens around the stages, allowing festivalgoers to optimally enjoy the concerts of well-known and upcoming bands such as Major Lazer, Skrillex, Bat For Lashes, Chromatics, Jamie Lidell, We Like Turtles, and Nicolas Jaar.
