Award-winning video projection brought to life with 11 Barco HDF-W26s

Sure, there are numerous light festivals in the world today. Yet one of the oldest and most famous ones is definitely the one in the French city of Lyon. Every year, since 1998, Lyon is the center of light show design for four nights, around 8 December. The tradition to illuminate the city at that time of the year goes right back… to 1889 in fact! The candles used then have been replaced now by stunning light fixtures, performances and shows from artists around the world.

Works of art, light and music
Year after year, the Lyon festival attracts millions of visitors. And year after year, the artists and producers manage to design new creations that blow away the spectators. The highlight of the 2014 edition may well have been the set-up at the Place des Terreaux where masterpieces from the Museum of Fine Arts were displayed on the building facades. The magnificent show, which won the Partner Award 2014, was realized with the help of a long list of creative professionals, including artistic director Gilbert Coudène and designer Etienne Guiol/BK, video mapping expert Theoriz, producer Light Event Consulting and Spectaculaires, which took care of the technical set-up. A trusted Barco partner, Spectaculaires used no fewer than 11 Barco HDF-W26 projectors to bring the artwork to live.
