The North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament in Düsseldorf, Germany knows how important it is for citizens to feel in-tune with and informed about the activities and responsibilities of the government. This is why it decided to construct a brand-new visitor center that features the brightest stars in audiovisual technology. The goal? To wow visitors and invite them to interact about the political work of the state and the tasks and functions of parliament.
For the design and installation of the new 3D sound system, the NRW parliament worked with local partner inSynergie. The parliament’s headquarters is now home to a virtual acoustic simulation system that visitors can interact with in three different rooms. The system is driven by Barco’s powerful IOSONO CORE object-based 3D sound processor, which allows for a truly immersive media experience. In fact, the real-time 3D acoustics enable visitors to feel like they are right on the chamber floor with political leaders! The visitor center is, as such, another proof of the NRW parliament’s commitment to encourage citizen engagement and education through the best technology.
