Cairo , Egypt -
Since 2013, Al Ghad Al Arabi TV has been broadcasting Arabic-language news and entertainment programs from its London-based headquarters. Hosting a number of well-known journalists and boasting technology on the scale of television news giants like Sky News and the BBC, the broadcaster is very ambitious. Also for its local office in Cairo and for its news studio, which were inaugurated in 2015 and 2016 respectively, it resolutely relies on the very best technology – including Barco displays.
Al Ghad Al Arabi chose AV Solutions, a Dubai-based systems integrator, to supply, install and integrate the AV equipment in the two Cairo studios, which are 1km apart, and the control room. Zaid Wattar, Managing Director: “Al Ghad Al Arabi was looking for a partner who could supply and install software broadcast technologies. As we had been involved in several broadcast projects in Egypt in the past, we had installed an office in Cairo. Al Ghad Al Arabi decided to team up with us to select, install and integrate the technology needed to enable communications, collaboration, the transport of video signals and data, broadcasting, etc."
Ergonomic monitoring experience
In the control room, AV Solutions installed four standalone LDX-55 displays for 24/7 channel monitoring. The displays have a very thin and space-saving design, which was a key criterion for AV Solutions to choose this solution. Moreover, the LDX-55, which features durable LED backlit LCD technology, produces crisp, bright and color-accurate images. This high brightness, the 4000:1 contrast ratio, a 178° viewing angle and the versatile input connectivity ensure a truly ergonomic viewing experience for the operators who monitor the broadcasts. Which can have nothing but positive effects on the quality of the programs …
