Have you registered your UDM projector already?

With the release of the latest update of our Pulse software (1.11), the product registration of new UDM projectors will be required. Why? And how? Here’s everything you need to know.
What’s in it for you?
The main driver for online product registration is to create a closer customer relation that brings additional value to all parties involved. By registering we can inform you on everything important related to your product. What’s more, the data allows us to provide more efficient after sales support and better customer services. Product registration offers us the necessary insights into what products you as a customer have: model, built year, serial numbers... It eliminates administration hurdles when calling for remote support and it minimizes the chances of being sent incorrect spare parts due to mixed up model numbers.
And lastly, you might also have heard about our new IoT solution Barco Insights (Projector Management Suite), a cloud-based platform for enhanced projector management and remote monitoring. But to make this functionality available on your projector, activation is required first. The product registration step makes the link between the product, its cloud stored data and the customers’ access account.
How can I register my Barco projector?
Registration is very simple, using the projector LCD user interface or via the Ptoolset license registration tab. Watch this video for a step-by-step explanation of how to register your Barco projector.
Can I use the projector without registration?
Registration is required, but we’ll give you some time to do so. Starting from its first use, you’ll have 100 hours of projection runtime to finalize the product registration. The projector will show you a brief reminder at every start-up. Once the limit of 100 hours is reached, it’ll give you a warning on the projector’s LCD screen and on the projected image (for a 5 minute period).
Can I register my entire fleet at once, or should I do it one by one?

What happens with my data after the registration?
During the activation process of your installation, we are registering the following data from you:
- Company name
- Company address
- Name, email address and telephone number of the employee executing the registration
The data obtained through the registration process is subject to the GDPR rules, meaning your personal information will not be forwarded to third parties or used for other purposes other than the ones related to the registration of your product.
