How to change the Intended Use of a monitor in QAWeb Enterprise

Note: Please read first, what is behind the term "Intended Use" in the dedicated section of the QAWeb Enterprise Online Manual, here 

When new displays are added to your QAWeb Enterprise organization (either through add new workstations, or by physically connecting a display to an already registered workstation), the intended use is automatically initialized based on the model of the display. However, it is possible to modify the use using the web client as shown below:

  • Go to QA - Workstations - select your workstation 
  • or Go to Assets - Workstations  - select your workstation

Once the intended use successfully changed, you might wonder how it comes that the applied modification has not been applied automatically to your monitors. 

Explanation:

When a setting gets customized on QAWeb Server (i.e: display assigned to another room, intended use of display has changed, policies have been customized...), the new setting will automatically be transferred to the corresponding QAWeb Agent of this workstation but not automatically applied. The following message on the Cloud Server notifies you that the Agent is currently not up to date with the latest defined policy. 

On QAWeb Enterprise Agent, the following action button has to be clicked in order to reload the latest policies to the Agent. 

At this moment, the QAWeb Agent will correctly transfer and apply the previously defined customized settings (Intended Use / Policy) to the corresponding monitors.
