The Spanish city of Salamanca organized its first ‘Festival de Luz y Vanguardias’ in 2016. Its objective: highlight its enthusiasm for history and present-day art through multimedia projections on the city’s most important historic buildings. Barco projectors made the artwork come to life on many of this monuments.

The brightness the artwork deserves
Sono Tecnologia Audiovisual, a long-term Barco partner, shipped four 40,000 lumens HDQ-2K40 projectors and four of its latest HDX-W20 FLEX projectors to Salamanca. “Both projector types ensure very bright images. That was a must as we wanted the multimedia art to shine and impress. And that’s not easy on the facades of the buildings,” David Redondo, Project Manager at Sono explained. “The audience was in awe about the visual effects that the artists had created. That wouldn’t have been possible without the great quality of our projectors.”
Reliable + fantastic image quality
Quite some partners were involved in the ambitious event in Salamanca. Estudio de Comunicación, the main organizers, relied on Heavents – with technical director Jose Luis Iglesias – for the technical set-up. They chose Sono to deliver the Barco projectors. “We have a stack of Barco projectors and have used Barco technology for many, many years,” David Redondo added. “It’s always reliable and ensures fantastic image quality.”
