Barco takes the winning set

Barco and World Cups: they seem to go together perfectly. Huge Barco LED display systems were set up in three soccer stadiums in South Africa, for the FIFA World Cup 2010. Barco LiveDots’s LEDs were integrated into the 2012 Olympic Stadium in London. Several Brazilian soccer stadiums and the Sao Paulo airport were equipped with Barco solutions for the FIFA World Cup 2014. And barely two months later, Barco's FSN-150 switcher, delivered by ARAM Multimedia, helped make the opening event of the FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Cup 2014 a resounding success.

Visually appealing and entertaining
No fewer than 63,000 fans had travelled to the National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland, on 30 August last, to attend the opening event and the opening match. It was a night to remember as young performers from across the country took to the stage during a visually appealing and entertaining show. The people and products that made this sports gala come to life: one of the largest AV and lighting rental house in Poland, ARAM Multimedia, set designer Giorgios Stylianou and Barco products, amongst other solutions.

All LED
The set included almost 300m² of various kinds of LED curtains, which were made of 24 multimedia cylinders symbolizing each of the countries participating in the competition. Some of the LED modules were engineered to perfectly fit into the other elements of the set. In addition, ARAM provided six additional 8mm and 10mm LED screens for video transmission and displaying the results of the match. The whole installation was controlled by Catalyst v.4HD media servers and the Barco FSN-150 seamless switcher.
