Barco illuminates Christ the Redeemer during Belgian Economic Mission to Brazil

From November 23 to December 1st, 2024, HRH Princess Astrid of Belgium, Representative of His Majesty the King, will lead an economic mission to Brazil, focusing on key industries such as Entertainment & Gaming. The economic mission is organized by the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency, in collaboration with the FPS Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, and regional agencies: Wallonia Export and Investment Agency   (AWEX), Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT), and hub.brussels.

A highlight of this mission will be a spectacular video mapping on Christ the Redeemer, scheduled for November 28. This event will be attended by HRH Princess Astrid, along with Belgian and Brazilian dignitaries, symbolizing the strong diplomatic ties and technological collaboration between the two nations.

Barco will provide the projection technology for this event, utilizing four high-performance projectors, each boasting 20,000 lumens. These projectors will illuminate the statue with stunning visuals of iconic buildings and landscapes from both Belgium and Brazil, creating a cultural and poetic narrative that celebrates the friendship between the two countries. Alongside Barco, Belgian firms Dirty Monitor and Many Mind Media will contribute to the event by providing content and drone coverage, respectively.

Organized by Agoria, the federation of Belgian technology companies, this technological partnership is part of the “Belgium. Embracing Openness” campaign. Managed by the FPS Chancellery of the Prime Minister, this international campaign aims to enhance Belgium’s reputation among investors, opinion leaders, researchers, and students worldwide.
