Creating magical, poetic stories that bring people together
The French cities of Rennes, Avignon and Nancy, Berne in Switzerland, Macae in Brazil and even Saigon in Vietnam: all of these cities were lucky to host a dazzling video projection-mapping show, in the course of 2013. The creators of all that magic? Spectaculaires, a French company that has been using video projections to tell stories since 2006. All those years, Barco projectors have helped Spectaculaires amaze its audiences.
One of the highlights of 2013 was a 360° projection mapping on the Palais des Papes in Avignon. During ‘Avignon Luminessences’, as the video show was called, 11 Barco HDF-W26 and two FLM-R22 projectors took the audience on a fascinating journey through the history of the famous Palace. “On this magic night the very stones of the Palace, witnesses of a time when Avignon was the capital of Christendom, will vibrate with life and plunge you into 360°-degrees of sound and images,” the brochure claimed. Spectaculaires – and Barco – made that promise come true.
Though Spectaculaires is firmly rooted in France, the company is increasingly taking its experience and expertise abroad too. Even across continental borders. In December 2013, an amazing projection mapping took place on Saigon’s Vietnamese Palace of Reunification, to wrap up the French year in Vietnam. The show combined art, light and live music to tell the story of Vietnam, from its foundation till today. Just like in Avignon, Rennes, Nantes, Berne and Macae, it brought together numerous spectators who were truly impressed by the original, poetic and spectacular shows. Spectaculaires can look back proudly on its first outing in Asia!
