Barco showcases 4K power at 23rd Ljubljana International Film Festival
For 12 days in November 2012, Ljubljana welcomed film lovers and fans for the 23rd Ljubljana international film festival (LIIFFe). Besides offering high-quality films, this year's festival also boasted technically outstanding projections, powered by Barco.
Barco, represented by AVC group in Slovenia, set up its DP4K-32B digital film projector. Thanks to this innovative Barco projection technology, the audience was treated to clear, vivid and razor-sharp projections.
On top of the cinema projections, Barco’s 4K projector also helped imaging product manufacturer Canon demonstrate how its state-of-the-art compact cameras deliver phenomenal image quality, high performance and fast, intuitive operation in 2K and 4K resolution. During the dedicated promotional event, five short 4K films were shown made by established international producers with new Canon EOS cameras.
Ms Karine Fouque of Canon Europe’s Broadcast Products Division said: “The collaboration of Canon and Barco resulted in one of the first 4K projections in Slovenia, during this Ljubljana film festival. This is the beginning of a long 4K story in the region. Canon is proud to have been part of this adventure from the beginning with Barco.”
