1.4.4 Logging in as service user

About the service user

There is a hidden user group available with variable credentials, intended for service activities that can only be performed by authorized staff:

Requesting a service partner password

The service password is only available to people who have followed the service partner training for the appropriate projector and are registered as an official service partner with Barco.

There are two ways to obtain a service user password:

Tip: Service partners that require access to the Password reset website for the first time will need to contact Barco helpdesk.

Each password is uniquely linked to the projector and is valid for up to ten days.

How to log in as a service user
  1. On the login page, click on the wrench icon in the top-left corner (reference 1).

    Create Password link

    Resets current challenge (resets 10–day counter)
  2. Click on the Download Challenge (reference 1, Image 1–10) button.

    A ServiceUserChallengeRequest file (in *.json format) with the necessary data will be downloaded.

  3. Click on the Create Password (reference 2, Image 1–10) button.

    A new window will be opened, redirecting the user to the “Password reset tool”, on the Solve service challenge page.

    Note: Logging in as service partner will be required to access the page.

  4. On the service challenge page, upload the ServiceUserChallengeRequest, using the file picker button.
  5. Click Solve.
  6. Copy the returned response key.
  7. In Prospector, click on the key icon, to return to the login pane.
  8. Log in with the following information:

    • User name: service
    • Password: the copied response key.
  9. Click Login.
Tip: Clicking RENEW CHALLENGE will generate a new challenge key and reset the 10-day counter. Use this in case the password got lost
