Barco does not recommend downgrading the software, but it is technically allowed. Downgrading the software uses the same method as upgrading software. For more info, see “Firmware”.
There are things to take into account when deciding to downgrade the software. These are the following:
One of the main reasons Barco discourages from downgrading software is that it continuously improves its projectors and line-up of projector models. Downgrading to older software versions may have the side-effect of the software no longer recognizing newer hardware components or even new projector models all together. This may cause errors or warnings being triggered on certain hardware components not being recognized, or potentially damage the projector.
Certain software releases are mandatory for upgrading the projector software. These mandatory releases must be installed before upgrading to the latest Pulse version. For downgrading, different mandatory versions may be required. Additionally, the specific mandatory intermediate version depends on the projector model.
Mandatory intermediate version for UDM, UDX, Hodr, Njord:
For upgrade: Pulse v2.3
Example: Pulse v2.1>> Pulse v2.3 >> Pulse v2.6 or later
For downgrade: Pulse v2.6
Example Pulse v2.7 or later >> Pulse v2.6 >> Pulse v2.1
Mandatory intermediate version for FL40, FS40 ,F70, FS70, Bragi, Balder:
Upgrade: Pulse v2.3
Example: Pulse v2.2 >> Pulse v2.3 >> Pulse v2.5 or later
Downgrade: Pulse v2.5
Example: Pulse v2.6 or later >> Pulse v2.5 >> Pulse v2.4
Before Pulse 2.10, new projectors came with three default user accounts and passwords. From Pulse 2.10, the default users no longer used for security reasons.
If the default useraccounts were not manually removed, after upgrading to Pulse 2.10 or later these accounts will continue to exist. However, these user accounts will be removed under the following circumstances:
Downgrading to Pulse 2.9 or older will automatically restore the three default user accounts.

After upgrading from Pulse 2.9 or older to Pulse 2.10 or later, PIN codes will change its encryption method, to ensure proper secure storage. However, when downgrading to Pulse 2.9 or older, this encryption method will no longer work, and the PIN code will no longer work as intended.
It is up to the administrator to log in and correct the PIN code for each user account.
Alternatively, perform a factory reset of the user account, or perform a full factory reset to restore the default accounts.
