7.1 Adding the meeting room

Conferencing app
A conferencing application sends audio, video and content over the internet to and from the participants. Joining a meeting through a conferencing app is seen as being a remote participant.
Availability
About the room account

The room account can be added as a participant to the meeting in the conferencing app. The room account is treated as a regular remote participant by the conferencing app. Meaning, the room account can be used in the same way as a personal account on a local device. It is not required to join the meeting with a local device for this reason.

Prerequisites

The meeting room must have hardware for users to interact with the room. If no hardware is present, contact the local IT department.

How to add

  1. Is the meeting room invited using a meeting invite?

    • If yes, go to next step.
    • If no, look up the meeting ID in the conferencing app. For more information on where to find the ID of a meeting, see the documentation of the meeting room provider. Go to next step.

  2. Tap Join or enter the meeting ID using one of the following methods:

    • Using the touch panel. (only for CX-50 Gen2)
    • Using the Control Panel. (only for Hub Core and Hub Pro)
    • Using the touch display.
    • Using the keyboard and mouse.

    The meeting room account is added as participant in the conferencing app.
