About Danny Deroo

Director of Product Management Innovation, Barco

The first touchpoints from Danny within healthcare date from 1998, where he contributed to the calibration and quality assurance of medical standards for display systems over the years, culminating in new IEC standards.  After that, he moved to a global product management role for diagnostic displays and quality assurance software in Barco’s healthcare business with a market share of over 50% in North America.

In 2012, Danny started to focus more on the innovation process, leading multiple startup teams working on new solutions around network displays and improving the collaboration in healthcare. A couple of years later, the intensive and very practical innovation coach training based on design thinking enabled him to connect and learn from clinicians on new unmet needs and opportunities for Barco Healthcare to explore. This is his main role today: identifying these problems to solve, building business cases, doing market research and verifying early demonstrators with end users.
