Barco lights up Beijing’s Financial Street

As a benchmark event for China’s financial reform and development, the Annual Conference of Financial Street Forum 2025 brought together over 400 distinguished guests from more than 30 countries to discuss the global financial landscape. Barco projectors transformed the China Life Financial Center on Beijing’s Financial Street into a stunning visual canvas, celebrating the dynamism and growth of China’s financial industry.

Context

Located in Beijing’s central unban area, the Financial Street Forum stage became a landmark display of QDX-4K45’s capabilities, following the success of the Yongding Tower project at the Garden Expo Park.

The show opened with the gilded Jinbao Street emblem, symbolizing honor and prosperity, followed by a phoenix soaring upward with golden-red wings, representing the vitality of the financial sector. The Forum theme, “Global Financial Development under Innovation, Transformation, and Reshaping”, was projected prominently across the building.

Challenge

The China Life Financial Center’s tall and narrow façade required vertical projector placement to achieve proper coverage. While conventional outdoor projection brightness typically ranges from 200 to 300 Lux, this high-profile event demanded over 400 Lux due to its significance and strong ambient light. Traditional heavy projector models would have required more manpower and space, and complex multi-projector blending posed additional operational challenges.

Solution

The project deployed eighteen QDX-4K45 projectors to create a spectacular projection show on the exterior façade of the China Life Financial Center in Beijing’s Financial Street, resulting in an impressive 1,250 m² projection mapping canvas.

From the outset, Barco engineers were deeply involved in projection placement planning and project previsualization, providing professional guidance on content design, consultation, and adjustments. For optimal brightness, the engineers paired three QDX-4K45 projectors into each group. The result was a stunning, seamless projection across the China Life Center façade, stretching up to 100 meters with smooth and vibrant imagery.

The Pulse software of the QDX projectors enabled direct adjustments of lens shift, zoom/focus, color calibration, edge blending, and keystone correction, delivering faster and more precise results than server-based or alternative software solutions.

Results

The projection show not only embodied the Annual Conference of Financial Street Forum 2025’s theme but also left a striking visual imprint on Beijing’s skyline. Barco QDX-4K45 projectors demonstrated exceptional performance, effortless deployment, and professional reliability, reaffirming Barco’s leadership in outdoor projection.
