On 18 November last, the 23rd Ljubljana international film festival LIIFFe closed its doors. For 12 days on end, film lovers and fans visited the Cankarjev Dom cultural center to view an exquisite collection of new and older films. Barco was glad to lend the festival its DP4K-32B digital film projector. The projector even supported an exclusive presentation of Canon’s newest EOS cameras and accompanying lenses, during the festival.

Like every year, LIFFe ensured the ultimate film experience, for nearly two weeks on end. Besides offering high-quality films, this year's LIFFe also boasted technically outstanding projections. Barco, represented by AVC group in Slovenia, lent its top-of-the-line DP4K-32B digital projector to the festival for DCP screenings. As a result, the audience was treated to bright, clear and razor-sharp projections that further contributed to the enjoyment of film. The projection system was rounded out by a GDC film server used to manage the 2K and 4K content.

In addition, Barco’s 4K projector helped imaging product manufacturer Canon showcase its latest compact Cinema EOS cameras (C500, C300, C100 and DC). During a well-attended event, Canon demonstrated how its state-of-the-art compact cameras deliver phenomenal image quality, high performance, and fast, intuitive operation in 2K and 4K resolution. In addition, five short 4K films were shown made by established international producers with new Canon EOS cameras. In this way, visitors gained first-hand experience of results made possible by the equipment while, at the same time, enjoying the latest film creations by distinguished artists.

Ms Karine Fouque of Canon Europe’s Broadcast Products Division said: “The collaboration of Canon and Barco resulted in one of the first 4K projections in Slovenia, during this Ljubljana film festival. This is the beginning of a long 4K story in the region. Canon is proud to have been part of this adventure from the beginning with Barco.”
