Pulse 2.10 release: security, simplicity and smarts
2 minutos de leitura
Cyber security matters more than ever, and our Pulse 2.10 delivers. With a new initial setup flow, stricter communication protocols, and automated update alerts, Pulse 2.10 makes it easier to stay secure without slowing you down. And to top things off, we added some new features such as the advanced warp interface in Pulse Prospector.
What is RED ACT?
The Radio Equipment Directive (RED) is a European regulation that ensures wireless and network-connected devices meet strict safety and cybersecurity standards. Pulse 2.10 includes introduces several functional enhancements, with a strong focus on security improvements and compliance with these new requirements. These changes may affect your current workflow; but are always designed to improve ease-of-use, performance, and reliability.
More security, but not more complexity
Upon first boot after updating, you’ll notice a new setup flow. You’ll have to go through a guided setup where you choose your language, accept the EULA, and create an admin password.
While most of the Pulse 2.10 key updates take place under the hood of your projector, some things are visible, like the new and stronger security defaults. Unencrypted protocols like HTTP or raw API and PIN-code authentication are disabled by default. Secure connections are at all times recommended, though unsecure access can still be enabled for legacy access if needed.
To help you get familiar with what’s new, we’ve created a short video featuring Thomas Poppe, our Software Product Manager. He walks you through the key changes in the setup flow, security settings, user management options... and how to handle them.
Stay smart and in control
If your projector is online and cloud services are enabled, Pulse 2.10 will give you a heads-up when a new update is available. The smart update notifications will show an icon indicating a new firmware update has been released. You can choose to install it right away, dismiss the alert, or come back to it later. Updates never installed automatically, so you stay in control.
A pro warp experience
With Pulse 2.10, we’re also bringing a powerful update to the Pulse Prospector web interface. We’ve reorganized the menu structure to make setup more straightforward. New users can start at the top and work their way in a logical step-by-step flow to the bottom. Once completed, the projector is fully set up and ready to be used. It’s a cleaner, more logical flow that makes getting started easier.
But more importantly, we’ve built a brand-new Advanced Warp interface directly into Pulse Prospector. It’s a more modern, integrated approach to warp multiple projectors. Whether you're fine-tuning geometry for a complex setup or just making quick adjustments, the updated interface is designed to make the process faster and more intuitive.
