Context

With a name inspired by the Sanskrit term for introspection, the Aatma Manthan museum’s mission is to facilitate self-discovery through a series of thematic galleries. Each gallery presents a unique perspective on universal concepts. Designed to appeal to the senses and spirit alike, these galleries blend natural elements, celestial themes, and cosmic rhythms with interactive, high-definition visuals. The museum, which is built within the base of Statue Of Belief- Nathdwara, has 16   sequential zones create an evocative environment where visitors can reflect on their inner selves, fostering a profound personal journey through visual and auditory cues.

Challenge

Designing and installing a seamless projection experience in a complex, irregularly shaped space was a significant challenge. The museum’s layout features numerous structural elements, curved walls, and unique angles, which posed issues for achieving consistent image clarity and alignment across the immersive environments. Given the museum’s vision, any solution needed to deliver vibrant colors, high contrast, and reliable performance. Tatpadam Upavan, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Miraj Group, overseeing the museum’s development, required visualization partners that could provide a high-quality, immersive experience while also ensuring easy maintenance and minimal downtime.

Solution

Having previously collaborated with Barco and Axis Three Dee Studios on the prestigious outdoor projection mapping for the Statue of Belief, Miraj Group was confident in Barco’s and Axis Three Dee Studios’ ability to deliver a captivating indoor experience as well. To enable the high-quality visual experience to come to life, they selected 65 Barco G62-W11 projectors, each delivering 11,000 lumens of brightness. This powerful, 1-chip DLP model was chosen for its exceptional color accuracy, contrast, and performance in immersive environments. The G62 series provided vibrant colors and fine detail necessary to bring each gallery’s theme to life.

Barco’s EssentialCare warranty program further supported this installation, offering advanced swap services that expedite maintenance, minimize downtime, and ensure that each zone remains fully operational. This support plan was crucial, as any interruption could affect the overall visitor experience.

Shri Madan Paliwal, Chairman of Miraj Group, reflects on the decision: "Barco projectors have beautifully transformed each gallery at Aatma Manthan, breathing life into the ancient wisdom of the land of Bharatvarsha (India) and presenting it in a way that resonates with today’s younger generation. The immersive visuals not only captivate the senses but also inspire introspection and a deeper connection with timeless teachings. We deeply appreciate Barco's role in successfully delivering this vision, enabling visitors to explore profound insights in ways they’ve never experienced before."

The Creative Concept Designer – Avijit Samajdar, Director of Axis Three Dee Studios further adds, "through unmatched technology, creativity and expertise, this project unveils inner journeys’ true essence. Heartfelt thanks to Barco and Miraj for their unwavering support."
